Is God Judging America or Just Disappointed in Christian Americans?

This week we started a new bible study called,”Is God Judging America?”.  The study is very intriguing. So is God really judging America or is He only trying to shake the Christians loose from their pews? The next four weeks will help me to decide.

We began the study at the beginning of America. And yes, I am having to  sweep the US History cobwebs loose. I already knew Christopher Columbus, Spain, and Christianity were three common elements resulting in the discovery of America. But did you know that the manifestos of the Pilgrims and the Puritans read like a blueprint of Israel?

You will have to come back next week to hear more about their blueprints. Right now, I want to discuss the “questions and comments” part at the end of the lecture. Here are a few of them…

“We need prayer back in schools.”

“Where were the our religious leaders when they removed the ten commandments from the government buildings?”

“Our leaders need to step up and do their jobs!”

And so on!

Once again my ears tingled with the woeful cries to rally, change, solve, and redeem our nation. A loud resonating sound, which is usually followed by the deafening silence of no action. They reminded me of “arm-chair” quarterbacks during Sunday football season. And that is exactly where I am. I can tell you what to do, but would rather you execute the action.

Why, am I too guilty of no action?

Because deep in the recesses of my somewhat questionable mind, I remember my own painful days of standing firm and assisting the charge up the hill of change.  At the bottom we were many, but by the top, we were few.  When I look back and assess these situations, I discover one conclusive fact.  The fact that the faint-hearted, weak-minded, rubber backboned and soft lazy lifestyle types, are not equipped for this rigorous climb.

They were most appreciative, though, that we made the climb for them. Thankful that they nor their family, had to endure the repercussions.  Grateful, the only laborious work they incurred was operating the mechanics of their mouth. And proudly pleased with their laying of the gossip foundation.  Yes, they were most appreciative.

And once you have been burned this way, you hesitate to give further help.

I know, myself and other Christians need to band together soon, before the Christian America is no more.  We must rise from our bench warming pews and be pebbles in the middle of our community ponds. As we, Christians retake our schools, our towns, our cities, and our governing bodies back; we will see the ripples spreading wider and wider.

Didn’t Jesus give us the great commission in Matthew 28?

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

So, pick those splinters out of your hind section and remember the wooden cross they nailed Jesus to, for you.  And then pick up your cross, and start reclaiming Christian America!

One community, one fight at a time.
