King Obama and the Keystone Pipeline

Once there was a King, selfish and untrue.

He struck out to smash the hopes of the people of his kingdom and split the kingdom into two.

Why, you may ask.  Well, I ask that too!

When a leader displays destructive power, he imagines he has clutched in his hands, it demonstrates a lack of reality. For no one is truly a King with all the power and all the knowing.  Only God is the true King of the Universe, but somehow America’s political leaders have become totally confused by their own illusion of grandeur.

History tells us exactly what happens once a leader buys into his or her own greatness.  A downward spiral begins for everyone! These leaders end up forgotten and the nation is referred to in past tense terminology.

“Remember when America was a truly democratic and free nation?”

“Remember when Americans were so prosperous?”

Yes, “remember when” is on our doorsteps and has opened the door!

Usually the ones recognized and revered are the humble, Godly men and women who advanced real change and held the hearts of the masses. We continually speak about them, write about them, and wish they were still around.

I can not begin to count the times I have said, “I wish President Reagan was still here!” Or better yet, “If CS Lewis was here, I would love to be an intern for him!”

Simon Wiesenthal once said, “What connects two thousand years of genocide? Too much power in too few hands.”

Wiesenthal was an Austrian writer, Holocaust survivor, and Nazis hunter after WWII. I am sure he saw the abuse of too much power.  And maybe because we are, as a nation, so far away from the terrible events of WWII, we forget too easily.  Thus we allow it to happen.

President Obama’s vetoing of the Keystone Pipeline was a direct, intentional “I will show you who is in charge,” political move.  For if he was truly worried about the environment; he could have gone after numerous other industries with known, far greater impacts on the environment!

Here is our first black American President, who could have done great things to bring Americans together.  He could have been revered in history and looked to for inspiration. Instead the legacy that President Obama is writing is sad, divisive, and destructive to America. Oh, I am not shortsighted enough to say it was and is all his fault. Our Senate and House of Representatives are equally responsible.

I will say I am terribly disappointed when someone who could have done so much, has done so little!

The needs, wants, and desires of the American people are no longer an agenda for a lot of our political leaders! What can we do?

We can vote them out and eliminate the direct cash flow into their pockets from outside sources. But first we must start by writing  what we expect from them! They work for us, not us for them.

Here is a link to the email addresses to each of our Senators. I have also provided the list of the Senators who voted against the Keystone Pipeline.  These lists are public.  Maybe they are the first ones who need an email because the Senate has to get 67 votes to override the President’s veto! They have 62. It is time for a nation to rise up and speak clearly to our Representatives!
