Westminster Terror Attack (You Go British Prime Minister, Theresa May!)

Accolades to British Prime Minister Theresa May after the Westminster attack on March 22.  She is a class act with a firm resolute about how her country will respond to terror.

“We will move forward together. Never giving in to terror. And never allowing the voices of hate and evil to drive us apart.”

And isn’t that all terror can do anyway is to divide a country? Because to divide is to conquer, at least that is how they view it. But what could happen if the countries under attack from terror come together? Not only the leaders, but the people. We are the ones who have the eyes, and the ears on the streets of our countries. We are the ones who can prepare and be aware when faced with an attack, to counter and defeat this evil! There are around 184,000 terrorists world-wide, and we have 325,838,705 Americans, 64,938,716 French, and 65,511,098 Great Britain citizens.

(If you want to view population by country…http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/population-by-country/)

As Christians, God has given us some strong promises concerning our enemies.  We need to know them, to pray them, and to follow God’s will. Do you not think that by standing with God, any evil can be defeated? I do.

God tells us, “no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD. Isaiah 54:17

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”               2 Timothy 1:7

If we read God words and believe God’s words, change will happen!

Another impressive statement by British Prime Minister Theresa May, which I feel is a truthful representation of the attack.

“The location of this attack was no accident. The terrorists chose to strike at the heart of our Capital City, where people of all nationalities, religions and cultures come together to celebrate the values of liberty, democracy and freedom of speech.   These streets of Westminster – home to the world’s oldest Parliament – are engrained with a spirit of freedom that echoes in some of the furthest corners of the globe. And the values our Parliament represents – democracy, freedom, human rights, the rule of law – command the admiration and respect of free people everywhere.   That is why it is a target for those who reject those values.   But let me make it clear today, as I have had cause to do before: any attempt to defeat those values through violence and terror is doomed to failure.”

Democracy, freedom, human rights and the rule of law are the values which America was established.  We have come too far and fight hard every day to maintain theses values, to allow a spirit of terror defeat us!

Remember fighting terrorism is first being alert of your surroundings and reporting anything which looks out-of-place.  Even if it turns out to be a goose chase, because one of those times the person or situation might be the real deal.

God Bless You!

God Bless Great Britain!

God Bless America!

To The Protesting NFL Players…

The freedoms we possess in the United States of America,

does not mean we are allowed the freedom of disrespect.  Joni Berry

I am passionate about the words I recently wrote concerning our freedoms.  And I think it should include all people and all things in the United States.

Including the NFL players who are sitting during our national anthem. I would like to recommend Viktor E Frankl’s book, “Man’s Search for Meaning,” for them to read.  In it he states that “no one has the right to do wrong, not even if wrong has been done to them.”  And what these players are doing by disrespecting our national anthem and flag, is wrong. Because they are also disrespecting the fans.

I also use Frankl as an example because, if anyone had the right to do wrong, it would be Viktor E Frankl.  He was a survivor of the Nazi concentration camps during World War II. Frankl was violated mentally and physically in every unimaginable sadistic way, only to come out of the camp to find his bride had been gassed. His family was gone.

Instead of disrespect and destruction Viktor realized that it was by looking to the future, where real change and survival can be created. For this was how they survived the camps. Not by sitting on a bench turning into a pillar of salt! Because those who sat in their huts and bunks, died. And you, sitting NFL players could be killing your own careers.( Just a thought.)

In a simpler statement, change comes from moving forward and doing.

Now, I know somewhere in your minds, you truly believe you are bringing awareness to the problem.  But I will have to pop your disillusioned bubble, and tell you that awareness of the problem was started back in the sixties. What you are doing now, is like spitting in the wind with it only to splatter  back on your face. Instead, what you should be doing is to take the awareness, run with it, and be the change!

Move forward and do.

Now, for those of us who have been in the inner city trenches, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, abuse shelters, and ministry outreach;  we view the sitting as an example of apathy and child-like attention grabbing. You want to do something, but you don’t want to get your hands dirty. So it is easier to sit.

And the message which you are sending to the American kids is that to create change all they need to do is sit, pout, and be disrespectful. Instead you could be promoting change, by being living, active examples within your communities.

So, I challenge each one you who sits that if you truly desire change and not attention, then you put your money where your butt is now. Start an inner city fund among the athletes to promote education, small business, and  a way out of the poverty and drugs. Join the local police and ask “How can I help you to bring this community together?” Give the kids positive, hard-working examples to immolate.

And remind the world, that when much is given, much is expected in return.

For, it is one thing to talk change, but it is another to walk the change. It takes courage and ambition to create honorable change, along with a humble spirit. Which might be too far away from the spotlight for you.

Still, I challenge you!

Because if you continue to sit, maybe the time has come for the hard-working American people to show you change. Those of us who will never know in our life time, one year of your salary.  The no bodies, who are out in the trenches trying to make a difference. And buying the tickets and merchandise your franchise sells which affords you, your luxurious lifestyle.

We could start our own boycott of your team, your stadiums, your apparel, and the companies and media outlets who endorse you.  And with social media today, a bunch of no bodies could take a chunk out of your pocket-book and the NFL.  For someone who loves her football teams, it will be hard.  But because I am someone who loves and respects what her country stands for, it will be my mission.

So, if you think sitting is a protest, wait until you see us, standing Americans, protest with the boycotts.  Because we are sick and tired of you multi-million dollar athletes being cry babies!  The privilege you have been given is not one you deserve, proven by your actions.

(I do need to add a note…I know there are teams who are not sitting. And I also know that my two teams, Houston Texans & Carolina Panthers, create change within their communities. Except they do it the honorable way God tells us to; without bragging or attention. So to those teams, I say “thank you!”)

Remember, I challenge those of you who are sitting, to stand and be the real change in America!

I hope to see everyone standing this Sunday.

A Call To All Americans

My fellow Americans, I know we are now under attack by various degrees of terrorism.  But like our past dictates, instead of tearing us apart, we become unified in our cause! And now is the time for unity.

In Isaiah 54:17 we are reminded, “No weapons formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgement, You shall condemn.  This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. And their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord.”

Put down your busy lives and get before God. Pray! Pray for guidance and wisdom in how to handle these situations. ( If you are like me, then you are pretty angry) Pray for our country. Pray for those destroyed by these acts of terrorism! Pray.

Then it is time for us to unite and show the terrorists that they will never hold us down.  Instead of cowering in a corner, our backs get straighter and our actions become focused! WE ARE AMERICANS!

To the numerous heroes in Boston.  You are blessed, as-well-as a blessing to others!  You did what you knew you had to do and thought nothing of yourself.  Jesus tells us in John 15:13, ” There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

To the terrorist, “Did you see us in action?”  “We did not run away in cowardice but ran into the battle to defend and protect!” “What have you really accomplished?” NOTHING! Because we will rally around those who were hurt and devastated at their losses, and love them back into existence.  God will be there!

I found this video on YouTube and want to share it with you! God Bless You! God Bless America!
